  • The Hammers have to win to have any chance of staying in the Premier League
  • Leeds United will be without at least five players for the game

West Ham United face Leeds United this afternoon in the final game of the Premier League season. The Hammers have to win to have any chance of remaining in the top flight, if they lose, they will be relegated to the Championship.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have one final shot at survival and need three points, alongside a Tottenham Hotspur loss to Everton at the same time. Any other outcome will result in West Ham playing their football in the second-tier next year.

Leeds United have beaten the Hammers twice this year, once in the league and the second on the FA Cup, where the Lilywhites beat the Irons on penalties. Whilst history favours the away side, Daniel Farke has confirmed the West Yorkshire team will be without five players for this game.

Leeds United to be without five players for West Ham game

Leeds United boss Farke, has delivered some good news for West Ham fans, confirming his side will be missing five players at the London Stadium this afternoon. Ilia Gruev, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Noah Okafor, Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff will all miss the game with injuries.

Jayden Bogle and Pascal Stuijk are both doubts for the game and could also end up on the injury list.

“Also, Jayden Bogle is back in training. Could be that he is perhaps available. We have to wait right now how his body reacts to this load.” Said Farke.

“Obviously, with Anton, a bit mixed news. So bad news that he is not available for this game. Good news is it is not a major injury. He just needs to be stitched anyhow.”

“Also, Sean Longstaff is out. He had a hernia surgery. Not available for this game. So of course, a bit tricky still but we try to find some good solutions.”

The story is different for West Ham, with only Adama Traore expected to miss the game.
