West Ham United beat Everton 2-1 on Saturday to take another step forward in the Premier League survival fight.

Whilst the first-team’s eyes are all on the task in hand, a number of Nuno Espirito Santo’s players are out on-loan and featured over the weekend, with some making more impact than others.

English leagues

In the National League, striker Josh Landers made his first start for Boreham Wood as the team closed out the season with a 1-0 win over Sutton United. The young forward played 63 minutes as the team warmed up for their playoff eliminator against Forest Green Rovers on Wednesday night.

In the same division, Ryan Battrum started for Braintree Town as they lose 5-1 to Tamworth to bring a close to their season. Mason Terry, who won the club’s supporters player of the season, missed out on the game through injury and will return to West Ham for rehab now the season is over for them.

In the Championship, George Earthy was an unused substitute for Bristol City as they lost 2-1 to Birmingham City on Friday night. The Robins play Stoke City for their final game of the season this weekend.

In League One, Michael Forbes was not involved as Northampton Town lost 5-1 to promoted side, Cardiff City. The same was the case for Kaelan Casey as Leyton Orient lost 1-0 to Blackpool meaning they could have to win on the final day to secure safety.

European leagues

Niclas Fullkrug came of the bench for AC Milan as they drew 0-0 with Juventus. Milan now sit 12 points behind league leaders and cross-city rivals Inter Milan.

Staying in Serie A, Maxwel Cornet was a late substitute as Genoa lost 2-0 to Como. This was the wingers first appearance since early February.

In Hungary, Krisztian Hegyi kept a clean sheet as MTK Budapest continued their resurgence. MTK are now safe from relegation, being eight points clear of the drop.

Edson Alvarez remains side lined for Fenerbahce as they lost the Istanbul derby to Galatasaray, 3-0. The result now leaves them seven points behind their opposition in the title race with three games to play.
