- West Ham play Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon
- The Hammers can go five points clear of the bottom three with a win and other results
- Nuno Espirito Santo’s team drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace last time out
West Ham United host Everton on Saturday, looking to pick up more points in their Premier League survival fight. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team put on a strong defensive showing in the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace but failed to take their chances, having to settle with a point.
The Hammers will be desperate to go one better at the London Stadium, knowing that with Tottenham Hotspur heading to Wolverhampton Wanderers, they need to keep the pressure on their rivals.
Everton are coming off a difficult Merseyside derby loss, but still remain in the fight for European football. David Moyes returns to West Ham hoping to get one over his former side and get his current one, into the top six.
Here’s who we think will start tomorrow afternoon.
Mads Hermansen (GK)
Mads Hermansen had little to do on Monday night but dealt with everything that did come his way. The 25-year-old stays in.
Malick Diouf (LB)
An indifferent night for El Hadji Malick Diouf against Crystal Palace, but he remains the best option for West Ham on the left-hand-side of defence.
Axel Disasi (CB)
Just an absolute unit, for lack of a better term. The Hammers always look better with Axel Disasi at the back.
Konstantinos Mavropanos (CB)
Disasi’s partner, Konstantinos Mavropanos is sure starter. Could have scored again on Monday and will hope to do so on Saturday.
Kyle Walker-Peters (RB)
Repaid Nuno’s faith once again, Kyle Walker-Peters keeps hold of the right-back spot and keeps Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the bench.
Mateus Fernandes (CDM)
Mateus Fernandes continues to perform from midfield. The Portugal international will once again be key to everything West Ham do.
Tomas Soucek (CDM)
Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but Tomas Soucek alongside Fernandes works well and long may it continue.
Crysencio Summerville (LW)
Crysencio Summerville looked like he was getting back to his best on Monday. The winger stays in looking to go one better.
Adama Traore (CAM)
Adama Traore comes in for Pablo Felipe. The Brazilian has done well in recent games but the Hammers need some aggression and directness up top, and Traore can deliver that.
Jarrod Bowen (RW)
Jarrod Bowen didn’t have his best game last week but remains so important to the Irons. The 29-year-old’s quality is unmatched.
Valentin Castellanos (ST)
Needs to find a finishing touch but Valentin Castellanos stays in. Works so hard for the team, just needs more goals and needs them now.
Hermansen (GK); Diouf; Disasi; Mavropanos; Walker-Peters; Fernandes; Soucek; Summerville; Traore; Bowen; Castellanos
