West Ham United return to Premier League action after a dramatic penalty-shootout win over Brentford in the FA Cup. The Hammers host Manchester City on Saturday night, looking to keep their momentum going and get out of the relegation zone.

Nuno Espirito Santo made seven changes on Monday night but it did not affect his side, as West Ham continued to look light-years better than they did in 2025. Despite the positives, the cup tie was not without it’s issues, with star winger Crysencio Summerville suffering a calf injury.

Summerville has been a huge part of the West Ham revolution in 2026. The 24-year-old has amassed his best Premier League goalscoring tally this season, including scoring seven goals in his last 11 games in all competitions.

Not only was the Dutchman in-form for the Hammers, scoring the winner against Fulham, but he was rumoured to be in-line for an international call up, having only represented his nation at youth levels.

Nuno’s team will now be without Summerville for two weeks with a view to the attacker returning for next Sunday’s game at Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Further team news

Elsewhere Pablo Felipe is available for this game. The Brazilian made a surprise return for the FA Cup win over Brentford and looked right at home. He will be ready from the off in this game and could start alongside Valentin Castellanos.

Freddie Potts, who returned to the bench on Monday night, is also available after serving his three-match ban for a red card at Burton Albion.

Nuno is expected to return to type for this game but there could be a place for Mohamadou Kante. the young Frenchman started in midfield against Brentford and put in a really strong performance. The 20-year-old has had to wait for his chances with West Ham this season but could be in for more football on the back of his performance on Monday.
