Virals: West Ham handed boost as Sevilla train without nine players

West Ham could be handed a huge boost in the build-up to their Europa League last 16 meeting with Sevilla. 

Julen Lopetegui could be without as many as nine key players for the game at The Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Thursday (March 10).

The Hammers could be without two talismanic stars of their own as both Jarrod Bowen and Declan Rice face a race against time to be available for the trip to Spain. 

However, according to a report from Diario de Sevilla, as cited on Twitter by Sport Witness has claimed that the La Liga title-chasers are suffering through multiple injury problems. 

The report states that Erik Lamela, Suso, Gonzalo Montiel, Diego Carlos, Karim Erkik, Fernando, Papu Gomez and Anthony Martial are all doubts through injury whilst 65-cap Denmark ace Thomas Delaney is suspended. 

Since arriving in Spain on loan from Manchester United, Martial has scored once and provided one assist in four appearances for Sevilla. 

READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Make no mistake, these issues will be music to the ears of David Moyes. 

Albeit the Scot will be fully focused on matters West Ham, with fitness doubts over Bowen and Rice, problems amongst the opposition are undoubtedly a boost. 

Coming away from the first leg still in the tie is crucial and a number of key absentees for the hosts will aid the Irons’ chances.
