Virals: West Ham have ‘enquired’ over Marseille striker Bamba Dieng

West Ham have reportedly ‘enquired’ regarding the possible signing of Marseille striker Bamba Dieng

The Hammers are believed to be joined by Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, Burnley and Newcastle United in their admiration.

Currently away on international duty at AFCON with Senegal, Dieng could still be on ht remove before the transfer window closes.

That’s according to a report from French outlet RMC Sport, as cited by West Ham Sphere on Twitter.

The report claims that there has been ‘no concrete offer’ as yet for the six-cap ace but the Ligue 1 club ‘must sell and are willing’ to offload the 21-year-old frontman.

This season Dieng – who netted for The Lions of Teranga in their 2-0 victory over Cape Verde – has scored four times and provided one assist in 14 league appearances.

Valued at £7.2million and under contract in France until 2024 (Transfermarkt), signing the Senegalese youngster for the €10million (£8.3million) would represent outstanding value.

Capable of operating as a central striker and in wide positions, Dieng ticks multiple boxes in David Moyes’ squad.

Already dubbed the ‘new Didier Drogba’ for his playing style, the former Diambars FC starlet was hailed as ‘explosive’ by manager Jorge Sampaoli.

matchday.
