West Ham are once again being tipped to make a move for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
The 29-year-old enjoyed a career reviving loan spell with the Hammers last season before returning to Old Trafford in an attempt to maintain form.
However, having played just 11 minutes of Premier League football in December, Lingard may well be looking for a way out yet again.
Speaking on talkSPORT (Thursday, January 6 10:45am), journalist Alex Crook suggested that a swoop from the Irons was a certainty.
West Ham United are looking for reinforcements. One name mentioned to me that won’t come as a big surprise to fans is Jesse Lingard. Clearly not happy at Manchester United, out of contract in the summer. West Ham believe they could sign him for a fraction of the fee quoted in the summer. I think it’s inevitable that West Ham will try again. He really needs to leave Old Trafford – that would seem a no-brainer to me.
This season Lingard has scored twice and provided one assist in 12 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £18million and in the final six months of a contract in Manchester (Transfermarkt), the Irons should be testing the water with particular low ball bids.
Having made a stellar impact last season, David Moyes would be desperate to bring Lingard back to the London Stadium – especially in the wake of Said Benrahma’s temporary absence.
Albeit not a natural fit, the Englishman can operate as a centre-forward and would therefore provide support to new contract man Michail Antonio.
