West Ham fans excited by ‘amazing’ Jonathan David transfer links

West Ham have reportedly opened ‘negotiations’ to sign LOSC Lille forward Jonathan David.

Despite enjoying a strong first half of the season until now, the Hammers have been stretched to their maximum in recent weeks due to injuries and loss of form.

One man enduring a dip in output by his own admission is talismanic striker Michail Antonio.

The 31-year-old is currently on a run of one goal in 12 appearances for the Irons but is nigh on untouchable as the recognised frontman due to a lack of options.

Following the links to David, a host of happy Hammers took to social media to reel in the potential arrival of the 21-year-old.

So far this season the prolific Canada international has scored 15 times in 26 appearances across all competitions – including three UEFA Champions League strikes.

Given David’s age, profile and already burgeoning reputation, it’s of little surprise that the excitement would be palpable amongst the fanbase.

Having attracted the interest of Liverpool and Arsenal previously, David Moyes is certainly shopping in the right market as the Scot looks to bolster the attacking options.

Albeit an expensive mid-season investment for the £45million valued man, should the Canadian arrive at the London Stadium next month it would offer a huge boost to the whole club.
