Former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes West Ham have a chance of signing Liverpool defender Nat Phillips in January.
The Hammers have recently been linked with the 24-year-old following a likely season-ending injury to Angelo Ogbonna.
Kurt Zouma compiled the problem against Chelsea when the Frenchman limped off with a hamstring issue.
Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson suggested that the Irons could land Phillips over the Englishman’s teammate.
Phillips has got more chance of leaving than (Joe) Gomez has, that’s for sure. I still think a deal will be difficult to do though given the injury crisis Liverpool had last season. Phillips was brilliant at the end of last season but whether he is of the same level as Zouma and Ogbonna, I would question that. It’s an area that Moyes probably need to address though.
Joe Gomez has also been linked with a move away from Liverpool recently as the 11-cap man struggles to break back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans.
So far this season Phillips has made just three appearances across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Gomez has played seven times this term having previously been a mainstay in Klopp’s side.

Valued at £7.2million and under a new contract until 2025 (Transfermarkt), signing Phillips would likely cost a manageable sum in the January transfer market.
Despite being a lesser-seen figure this term, the Bolton-born defender proved himself to be more than capable of making the step up in both domestic and European football in 2020/21.
Having overseen the successful return of Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Gomez himself, Phillips is seemingly now dispensable at Anfield.
A threat in both boxes, Moyes would certainly be drawn to the no-nonsense centre-back’s attributes.
