West Ham will be looking to return to winning ways following back to back Premier League defeats when Brighton & Hove Albion arrive at the London Stadium.
The Hammers remain in a position of strength inside the top four despite the two consecutive losses and David Moyes’ side can still be delighted with their early work this season.
Meanwhile, the visitors to East London are without a win in nine matches in all competitions having themselves made an impressive opening to the campaign.
Writing his weekly BBC Sport prediction column, former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson backed the Irons to bounce back.
It’s now eight games since Brighton won in the league but they have drawn six of those and are still in the top half of the table. They created loads of chances against Leeds on Saturday so it was pathetic for some Seagulls fans to boo them off after that game finished 0-0. West Ham need a win too – they played well at Manchester City on Sunday but slipped to a second successive defeat. They are at home, and I think they will get one.
Lawrenson backed the hosts to prevail 2-0.
Ahead of the match, Moyes admitted he was hopeful of having first-choice left-back Aaron Cresswell available for selection after the 31-year-old collided with the post against Manchester City.

Both sides will be harbouring ambitions of qualifying for European football this term and that starts with a comeback victory here.
At home and with the better overall form, Moyes’ side should be confident of their chances.
Whoever wins the midfield battle will give themselves the greatest chance of success as Declan Rice and Yves Bissouma prepare to go head to head.
