West Ham are reportedly among a number of clubs ‘keen’ on signing Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic.
The Hammers are believed to be interested in bringing the experienced Croatian international to the London Stadium.
However, David Moyes faces tough competition for the 32-year-old from Everton and a number of Bundesliga clubs.
That’s according to a report from Fichajes, as cited by Global Watch Football on Twitter.
The report claims that the Irons are monitoring the contract situation surrounding the 109 times capped star who is ‘ideal’ for the Premier League.
So far this season the Croatian has scored twice and registered one assist in eight Serie A outings.
Described as ‘amazing’ by Jose Mourinho, Perisic has amassed a staggering 231 direct goal contributions in a career spanning 512 appearances.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Valued at £9million and under contract until the end of the season (Transfermarkt), signing a player of the winger’s pedigree for free would be a huge coup.
Capable of playing in a variety of positions, West Ham’s squad would be bolstered by the arrival of the Croatia legend.
Albeit Moyes’ squad is relatively blessed in the wide attacking areas, the opportunity to bring a player of Perisic’s prestige to east London cannot be overlooked.
