Jason Cundy full of praise for ‘fearless’ West Ham side

West Ham continued their stunning start to the 2021/22 campaign with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Rapid Wien in the UEFA Europa League.

The Hammers are now top of Group H thanks to goals from Declan Rice and Said Benrahma at the London Stadium.

David Moyes’ side are now seventh in the Premier League ahead of the visit of Brentford this weekend.

Speaking on talkSPORT after the game, former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy was full of praise for the in-form Irons.

They are well-balanced, really easy on the eye team. They’ve got a brilliant manager, some brilliant players who he’s getting the absolute maximum out of. They’re fearless right now. Every West Ham fan must be purring and I don’t think we’ve reached anywhere near the potential of this side. They are a really good team.

Cundy went on to suggest that West Ham can go ‘toe-to-toe’ with anyone before saying the club could do something ‘really good’ this season such as win either the FA Cup or Europa League.

Rice’s opening goal in the first half came after ex-Hammers midfielder Joe Cole sat down with the 22-year-old to discuss adding more attacking prowess to his game.

Another special night for this current crop of West Ham superstars.

Now in complete control of their destiny in the group, qualification to the knockouts could only be a matter of weeks away.

Following the relative success of last season, a trophy seems to be the next logical step and Moyes will no doubt be eyeing either a domestic cup or a magnificent European honour.

matchday.
