Virals: Record-breaker Michail Antonio takes over social media

West Ham striker Michail Antonio was the talk of social media on Monday night following a memorable evening at the London Stadium.

The 31-year-old scored twice to go one ahead of Irons legend Paolo Di Canio in the all-time Premier League goalscorer list for the club.

Antonio scored twice late on for David Moyes’ side, numbers 48 and 49 in the top-flight, as the Hammers thrashed 10-man Leicester City 4-1.

Not content with simply breaking records, the versatile frontman made it a night to remember with an iconic celebration

The interview Antonio alludes to was a spectacle in itself as the now Jamaica ready international lie up the Sky Sports studio.

Signed from Nottingham Forest in 2015 for a reported £7million (Sky Sports), the London-born ace now has 51 goals for the club and 29 assists in 183 appearances.

What a night.

The transformation of Antonio is symbolic of the transformation of this side.

Moyes’ men were resounding in their display and deserve all the plaudits having reached the top of the table after two games.

With three goals in the opening two weeks of the season, Antonio will certainly be hunting down last seasons tally of 10 Premier League strikes.
