Virals: West Ham reportedly ‘very interested’ in Omar Colley

West Ham are reportedly ‘very interested in signing Sampdoria centre-back Omar Colley this summer.

The Hammers appear to be nearing a deal for Fiorentina 23-year-old Nikola Milenkovic but continue to be linked with potential alternatives.

Colley is the latest central defender touted as a possible future Iron, following links to Liverpool ace Nat Phillips earlier this week.

According to a report from Club Doria 46, as cited by Balls and Bells on Twitter, the 28-year-old is on the radar at the London Stadium.

The report claims that the 25 times capped Gambia international could be available for £12.7million during this transfer window.

Last season, Colley scored twice in 29 Serie A outings – earning an impressive 7.05 average Sofascore rating in the process.

Valued at £5.4million and under contract in Italy until 2025 (Transfermarkt), signing the Gambian for the mooted £12.7million would represent a shrewd deal for the Irons.

However, the question remains should Milenkovic arrive as expected, does David Moyes need to add further options to the squad.

The Serbian will join Craig Dawson, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna and Frederik Alves in the defensive department – leaving another addition unlikely unless a departure is imminent.
