Virals: West Ham reportedly ‘very close’ to Martin Braithwaite deal

West Ham have reportedly taken a huge step towards striking a deal for Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite

The Hammers are in the market for additional forward options to support Michail Antonio and the 30-year-old has been touted as a possible candidate for some time.

Coming off the back of an impressive European Championship campaign, Braithwaite looks to be the chosen one at the London Stadium.

That’s according to a report from Sport, as cited by Football Transfers on Twitter, claiming the Irons have had a bid accepted for the Dane.

The report states that the 56-cap star is ‘very close’ to completing a move to east London and that a deal is ‘practically done’.

Last season Braithwaite scored seven times and registered four assists in 42 appearances for the Catalan club.

Signing the Danish frontman would certainly provide David Moyes with a ready-made option to help the cause and take pressure away from Antonio.

A vastly experienced operator with goals in three different counties, there is no doubt Braithwaite would come good when called upon for the Hammers.

However, there is a feeling at 30 and at £15million, for slightly more the club could perhaps do better business elsewhere with a longer-term prospect.
