Virals: West Ham ‘expected’ to make bid for Paul Onuachu

West Ham are ‘expected’ to make an imminent bid for Genk striker Paul Onuachu.

This comes as the Nigerian international’s agent reportedly informs the Hammers that the 27-year-old will cost €15million (£12.9million) plus add ons this summer.

The striker has earned admiration from David Moyes and beyond as the Scottish manager looks to add competition for Michail Antonio.

According to a report from Own Goal Nigeria, as cited by West Ham Fan Zone on Twitter, the Irons could be approaching an agreement.

Onuachu earned the player of the year award last season in the Belgian Pro League after netting 29 goals and adding two assists in 33 outings.

Described as being of ‘gold value’ to Genk, the 10-cap star could be set to fulfil a lifelong ‘dream’ by playing in the Premier League.

Valued at £18million and under contract until 2024 in Belgium (Transfermarkt), the mooted valuations are certainly reasonable.

Predominantly operating as a central striker, Onuachu has notched an impressive 124 goals in 265 career outings

As West Ham prepare to embark on a Europa League campaign, a competition the Nigerian has experience within, this signing could be the boost the squad requires.
