West Ham Player Ratings: Sheffield United (H)

West Ham temporarily moved into the top four with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sheffield United at the London Stadium and ended the night in fifth place, outside the Champions League spots on goal difference only.

The Hammers took the lead from the penalty spot when Jesse Lingard was brought down cynically. After some conjecture between Lingard and Declan Rice over who would take the resulting spot kick, it was the latter who stepped up and slotted home his first goal of the season.

Shortly after the break, Issa Diop doubled the Irons’ lead with a header before substitute Ryan Fredericks put the icing on the cake in the dying moments with a powerful low finish.

Before the deadlock was broken, David Moyes’ side rode their luck and had Lukasz Fabianski to thank for maintaining the clean sheet on more than one occasion.

However, the Hammers collected three more crucial points to reaffirm their place amongst the European berths ahead of a difficult run of fixtures.

Here’s how we rated the West Ham players on show…
