Manchester United are keeping an eye on West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek ahead of a possible summer swoop, according to Football Insider.
The Red Devils had an opportunity to get a closer look at the 25-year-old during their FA Cup clash on Tuesday night. During the match, Soucek played all 120 minutes and gave a strong performance, completing 27 out of his 37 passes as well as winning 12 duels and two tackles (Sofascore).
Signed from Slavia Prague for £19.1m (BBC) on a permanent basis last July after a successful loan spell at the London Stadium, the penetrative midfielder has become an integral part of the Hammers’ side.
Adept at breaking up play and in a defensive sense inside his own penalty area, Soucek has added goals of late and he currently sits top of the club’s scoring charts with eight league goals, having played every minute of their top-flight campaign thus far.
The Old Trafford interest comes on the back of reported admiring glances from Bayern Munich, although a move to Manchester United to replace an ageing Nemanja Matic would make more sense.

Similarly to how the club has dealt with growing Declan Rice speculation over recent times, battening down the hatches may be necessary once again as major clubs come knocking for Soucek.
Given the 30-cap Czech international’s form, interest from elsewhere had to be seen as par for the course. The Irons must now do everything in their power to prove there is no need for their key players to leave the club in order to fulfil their ambitions.
However, it’s far from time to cash in on Soucek, especially given the freshness of his arrival. With a market value of £27m and with three years remaining on his contract in east-London, the Irons could demand a healthy premium for the midfield ace.
