Former Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa remains available on a free transfer as a proposed move to West Brom stalls, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Having trained with the Baggies last week, it looked as though Musa was set to sign at The Hawthorns until the end of the season. However, due to West Brom’s spending in January, their stretched finances could put pay to the deal.
The Daily Mail claimed that fellow Premier League clubs Southampton, Brighton and Burnley are possible destinations for the 28-year-old. Having been offered the Nigerian previously and still in dire need of a striker, West Ham could yet seize this opportunity.
During his time in England, Musa struggled to live up to the £16m fee paid by the Foxes, scoring just five times in 33 appearances. After signing for Saudi Arabia side Al Nassr, the 87-cap Nigeria international managed 11 goals in 14 assists during his time in the Middle East.

In normal circumstances, David Moyes would shy far away from a move for a previously failed Premier League striker.
However, with the West Ham manager already citing fatigue in Michail Antonio after less than a month of being the last remaining out-and-out striker in the Irons’ squad, it could be a case of needs must in east London.
Without a transfer fee attached, bringing in Musa on a short-term contract until the end of the season comes with minimal risk and should be seriously considered.
