West Ham returned to winning ways last night with an emphatic 3-1 victory and performance to boot against Aston Villa.
It was Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard who stole the show as the 28-year-old bagged a brace on his Hammers debut as well as adding extra energy to David Moyes’ side.
After an even first half, the deadlock was broken by the in-form Tomas Soucek shortly after the interval before Lingard then stole the show. The attacking midfielder was found twice by Michail Antonio and, on both occasions, the former England regular finished impressively.
A smart Ollie Watkins finish separated the West Ham loanee’s two strikes, but the Irons weren’t to be denied as Moyes’ men closed the gap on the top four in the Premier League. The Hammers will now travel across London to face Fulham on Saturday.
Here’s how we rated the West Ham players from a successful night at Villa Park…
