West Ham reportedly had an offer of around €15 million (£13.2m) for Besiktas striker Cyle Larin rejected according to Turkish journalist Atakan Kurt on Twitter.
The Turkish Super Lig club are believed to have told the Hammers to ‘come back at the end of the season’ with the player also unwilling to negotiate at this juncture.
This is the latest in a long line of potential suitors to the role of replacing Sebastien Haller that have ultimately come to nothing for the Hammers in what looks like an increasingly frustrating transfer window.
Larin, a 25-year-old Canadian international has been in fine goalscoring form this season, attracting the attention of David Moyes in netting 15 goals in 24 appearances in all competions.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
At 6’2 and with strength in the fundamentals of being a top striker, Larin possesses the key attributes that would have endeared him to Moyes and the irons faithful alike.
It remains to be seen but this move for Larin could have proved to be the final roll of the West Ham dice in terms of landing a much-needed striker this month.
Moyes has been relatively fortunate with injuries of late, and fortunately so with the squad now looking particularly threadbare in the striker department.
