Report: West Ham handed Josh King boost as Bournemouth change asking price

West Ham could have been handed a late boost in the transfer window as Bournemouth reportedly change their stance on Josh King according to journalist Alex Crook.

The Hammers have been long time suitors for the 29-year-old and could resurrect their interest as the Championship club reportedly lower their demands for the previously wantaway frontman.

The other deal mentioned by Crook is a potential swap deal involving Shane Long of Southampton as the Saints also show late interest in the man with 48 career Premier League goals.

The Norwegian striker has struggled to find form this season and is yet to either score or assist in 13 Championship appearances.

READ WEST HAM VERDICT

The King to West Ham drum has been repeatedly struck for some time now and even at this late hour in the market it hasn’t shown signs of ceasing.

Having previously reportedly demanded in excess of £15m for the striker, a drop in asking price would fall into the realms of affordability for the Irons.

There is no doubt David Moyes needs a new striker before the window closes, something that is looking increasingly unlikely – to everyone’s surprise.

Having sold Sebastien Haller at the start of the window, it would have to go down as a failure were the club not to replace the Ivorian, putting huge pressure on Michail Antonio both in terms of performances but also maintained fitness.
