West Ham are set to revive their interest in KV Oostende forward Fashion Sakala to cover for Michail Antonio, according to Voetbal Krant via Claret & Hugh.
The Zambian forward has been previously linked with a switch to east London from the top division of Belgian football and has been in fine form for his current club, with 11 goals in 21 league games this season.
Since the departure of Sebastien Haller to Dutch giants Ajax, West Ham have been in the market for a direct replacement to compete with Michail Antonio for a centre-forward place.
Sakala was first linked with the Hammers all the way back in April, but it appears that their interest could be revived given the context of the last few days of the transfer window, which closes on Monday.
Antonio has five goals and an assist to his name this season, but the 30-year-old’s injury history runs the risk of leaving David Moyes without a senior centre-forward unless a signing is made in the next three days.

The fate of West Ham’s striking fortunes are nerve-rackingly reliant on Antonio’s hamstrings. His influence cannot be understated, but his injury record has knocked large chunks of possible games out of previous seasons. Even in recent months, he has found himself bedevilled by injury woes.
Although the impending arrival of Jesse Lingard would bolster the Hammers’ attacking options, a striker like Sakala has to be prioritised if the transfer window is to be a success for West Ham.
