It’s safe to say Tomas Soucek has endeared himself to many West Ham fans during his first year in east London and his latest goal-scoring exploits have only strengthened the love.

The Czech midfielder has developed a trademark of arriving on the scene at the opportune moment to strike and has netted an impressive seven Premier League goals this season. That tally makes the 25-year-old the top scorer in the league for the Hammers – not bad going for a defensive midfielder.

Soucek’s latest brace earned David Moyes’ side three points at Selhurst Park as they defeated Crystal Palace 3-2 last night, moving the Irons into the dizzy heights of fourth in the table.

Duly awarded Man of the Match, these happy Hammers took to Twitter to hail their potato salad-loving midfield enforcer, who in the eyes of some is already earning ‘legend’ status…
