According to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, the West Ham board remain keen on bringing Bournemouth forward Josh King to the London Stadium.
This interest comes in spite of earlier reports claiming that King’s £120,000-a-week wage demands were holding up any possible transfer.
A late update from Sky Sports (Transfer Centre, 21/01/2021, 20:53) claimed that Burnley have joined the Hammers and West Brom in the race for his signature.
The £9.9m-valued marksman is seeing interest intensify as the January transfer window rumbles on, with West Ham seemingly leading the race.
Speaking via Football Daily, Solhekol claimed to have been told that the Hammers are still ‘very much interested’ in King and that club owners GSB could ramp up their offer to the Cherries to sign him this window.
Michail Antonio is currently the only senior first team striker at West Ham and David Moyes has previously confirmed his interest in recruiting a new centre-forward.
Alex Crook recently revealed [via talkSPORT] that the 29-year-old Norway international is ‘desperate’ for a Premier League move to east London. King is out of contract in the summer and can sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-English or Welsh club from this month onwards.

The grapevine seems to be red-hot with King rumours, and West Ham’s reported interest is far from over. The Hammers will not want to be caught short of options for the second half of the season, especially given Antonio’s injury record.
As competition intensifies, the West Ham board will need to show decisiveness and leadership and act quickly to fend off competition for King.
