West Ham Player Ratings: Crystal Palace (H)

Despite their competitors dropping down to ten men, West Ham failed to make the decisive breakthrough to wrap up all three points for the Hammers.

However, there was plenty of controversy and spectacular goals at both ends as Roy Hodgson and David Moyes’ respective sides shared the spoils of the game between them.

After a dominant spell from Crystal Palace, the Eagles made the breakthrough as West Ham struggled to deal with overlapping play from Andros Townsend and Joel Ward, with the latter curling in a cross that Issa Diop failed to deal with.

Belgian striker Christian Benteke then bagged his third goal of the season 34 minutes in with a superbly-accurate headed goal – one that took ‘keeper Lukasz Fabianski out of the equation to nestle in the right-hand side of the goal.

West Ham then responded after the break in superb style. Palace failed to deal with a pacey team break-away as the Hammers punished the Eagles in a counter-attack.

The move culminated in Vladimir Coufal whipping in a dangerous ball that was met with a flawlessly executed bicycle kick that eventually yielded a hard-fought point for Moyes’ men.

The Eagles well to keep out West Ham after Palace’s scorer was questionably sent off for a second yellow card amid two questionable bookings from referee David Coote.

Having held onto a point, here are the Read West Ham player ratings for all performers during the stalemate…
