David Moyes Confirms West Ham Will Be Without Michail Antonio

David Moyes has confirmed West Ham striker Michail Antonio will miss tomorrow’s game with Manchester United at the London Stadium.

Antonio returned to action on Monday night after a four-week layoff with a hamstring problem but struggled to perform at his usual level before coming off at half-time.

Speaking to reporters during his pre-match press conference, Moyes addressed the situation around his 30-year-old forward almost immediately.

”Micky (Michail Antonio) is out for tomorrow, we don’t know how long he will be out for. He is still having a bit of a problem with his hamstring. It’s not the same injury, we think it is slightly different. In the main, we have a fully fit squad.”

This comes as a small surprise given his comeback on Monday night, albeit he was a shell of his normal self

Moyes’ admission to not knowing how long his talismanic striker will now be out for is a major concern and may force the hand of the Scottish manager with the upcoming transfer window.

It does however present a further opportunity for Sebastien Haller – who would have counted himself a little unfortunate to be left out against Aston Villa.
