West Ham manager David Moyes faces an anxious wait before making a call as to whether or not to include Michail Antonio in his starting lineup against Aston Villa tonight.
The 30-year-old has been out for a period with a hamstring problem but has reportedly trained well with the rest of the Irons squad in recent days.
Prior to last weekend’s winning goal from Sebastien Haller at Bramall Lane, Moyes would have had no hesitation in including Antonio as soon as the 30-year-old was made available. However, Haller proved his worth against Sheffield United and may have just done enough to justify another opportunity from the outset.
Aside from his striker conundrum, Moyes’ other main selection dilemma comes in the wide positions as Said Benrahma continues to bide his time in the wait for his first start for the club.
West Ham could cement their place in the top half of the Premier League standings with a win – albeit a tough ask against a Villa side who themselves have made a bright start to the 2020/21 campaign.
Here’s how we think Moyes will lineup as he persists with his new formation, with Antonio set to come in among two changes from the team which started last week’s win at Sheffield United…
