Former Hammers striker Carlton Cole has said manager David Moyes should be given a new contract after reports emerged the current West Ham squad want the Scottish boss to be given a new deal.
Since lockdown the Irons form has enjoyed an upturn in fortunes and having avoided relegation last term, Moyes’ men have made a promising start to 2020/21.
Appearing on TalkSPORT breakfast on Wednesday morning (28/10/20, 9:35 am), when asked whether Moyes should be in line for a new deal, Cole said: ”Yeah, why not? Where else would we get a manager of that quality, since restart he has done brilliantly.”
The striker went on to say: ”Moyesy has pulled it back and the players are playing with confidence, they are buying into the philosophy.”
The 37-year-old clearly believes in where the Scotsman is taking the club, as do the players.

After parting ways with Moyes once before, perhaps prematurely, the Irons would be wise to tie the former Everton and Manchester United boss down to a new contract before too long, especially if the players believe him to be worthy.
There is no doubt the club have made a strong start to the new campaign and perhaps the time is right to reward the manager with a new deal and with it secure the long-term vision for the side, and afford Moyes greater confidence in where he can take the squad.
