Michail Antonio got the Hammers off to a flying start at the London Stadium as the energetic striker opened the scoring in spectacular style.

With the game at 0-0 and having made an impressive start, the 30-year-old who has 39 Premier League goals for the club, held off the pressure from Manchester City defender Ruben Dias before acrobatically firing home to give David Moyes’ side the lead.

Unfortunately for him and the side, Antonio had to be replaced on 52 minutes as he seemed to suffer a hamstring injury.

Without their talismanic striker leading the line the men in claret and blue found it difficult to threaten the opposition goal, instead, the hosts were left to hang on to a well-earned draw.

Unsurprisingly Irons fans loved the Englishman’s goal, and we’ve picked out some of the best reactions from Twitter…

Two weeks, two superb goals for the Irons. Now to pray Antonio’s injury concern isn’t serious and the striker can take his place in the squad for next weeks difficult trip to Liverpool.

Frankly, Sebastian Haller, who admittedly is short of match time, doesn’t look ready to lead the line in the same way Antonio can.

This latest stunner took Antonio to three league goals at the start of the campaign from the first five matches.
