Brighton, Tottenham and West Ham chase Djed Spence

Tottenham Hotspur have joined fello Premier League clubs Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United in the race to sign Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence, according to a report from ESPN.

Burnley, Sheffield United and Southampton are also being linked with moves for the 19-year-old and even though ‘Boro want to keep him for at least another year, it looks like they’re facing an uphill battle with so many top-flight sides chasing him.

According to the report, Jose Mourinho has been keeping tabs on the full-back for a number of years after a tip from his son, who was alongside Spence at the Fulham academy and is ready to sanction a move to take him to Spurs.

ESPN report that it could cost around £10m to sign the teenager, so it remains to be seen if West Ham, Tottenham or any other club make a move for him this summer.

The Hammers, having recently lost Jeremy Ngakia and Pablo Zabaleta, need to bring in a new right-back and spending £10m on a young, talented star could be a good route to go down, especially if funds are limited.
