West Ham fans rage at David Moyes’ plans to sell Diop

Many West Ham United fans have reacted negatively to a report which claims that David Moyes could sell defender Issa Diop this summer.

23-year-old central defender Diop arrived at West Ham in the summer of 2018, in a £22m deal from French Ligue 1 side Toulouse.

The former French U21 international struggled along with his teammates during the first six months of the season, but performances since the turn of 2020 have vastly improved.

Having made 64 appearances since joining the Hammers, Diop has netted five goals, but the report claims that Scottish boss Moyes was not convinced by the defender’s quality upon his arrival in December.

Moyes replaced Manuel Pellegrini in December, but he has since failed to move the London stadium side away from the threat of relegation in the Premier League table.

Previously linked with a summer move to Arsenal, Diop is now expected to have his future at West Ham decided by Moyes, who could be tempted to cash in, according to the report.

Such rumours have now led to countless West Ham fans reacting negatively to the prospect of Diop leaving this coming transfer window.
