Yarmolenko could return against Wolves and it could be decisive

Andriy Yarmolenko could make his return from injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend and his availability could prove to be decisive.

As reported on the club’s official website, Yarmolenko last featured for the Hammers against Southampton on December 14th and has since been absent with a thigh problem.

However, Football London believe that the winger could make his return against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this Sunday at the London Stadium.

Moyes recently confirmed that the Ukraine international was back in full training and it looks like he could at least be ready for a place on the bench against Wolves.

We believe that Yarmolenko’s return could be crucial in helping the Hammers get a positive result because of the attacking threat that he poses.

The 30-year-old scored three goals and registered one assist in 15 league appearances before his injury and that is a better output than someone like Manuel Lanzini, who has no goals in all competitions this season (Transfermarkt).

Therefore, if the Hammers are desperately in need for a goal, having Yarmolenko available to call upon could be a game-changer.

In the previous match against Arsenal, the Hammers were chasing a goal but didn’t have many dangerous options on the bench, whereas this time around, if Yarmolenko is in the matchday squad, Moyes will know that he at least has someone with somewhat of a goalscoring pedigree to turn to.
