West Ham owners David Gold and David Sullivan have come under fire from Mail journalist Oliver Holt.
In response to the pair demanding an apology from Sky Sports’ Sunday Supplement programme, Holt delivered an “apologetic” response to the pair, calling out how they have managed West Ham during their time at the club.
Holt questions the pair in his article for the Mail, saying:
Moreover, I wish to recant any previous statements which may have given the impression I believed that West Ham United had become a deracinated, hopeless, directionless, car crash of a club which has had its soul ripped out by Messrs Sullivan and Gold and Baroness Brady.
Protests have called for the pair to sell the club, with West Ham languishing in the bottom three despite spending big money on the likes of Sebastien Haller.
David Gold had defended his actions at the club, revealing to journalists that he believes the club is still going on the right path, despite their position near the foot of the Premier League table.
Several West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to voice their frustrations with the ownership, and praise Holt for his attack on the club’s hierarchy.
