Former West Ham man Rio Ferdinand believes that David Moyes has a huge job on his hands to keep the Hammers in the top flight.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Ferdinand revealed that he believes that Moyes has to somehow galvanise his side as they look to stay in the top flight, with the Hammers now sitting in the bottom three of the Premier League.
Moyes has only secured one win so far as West Ham boss, and saw his side throw away a 3-1 lead at the weekend to draw 3-3 with fellow strugglers Brighton and Hove Albion.
Speaking about his former club, Ferdinand believes that West Ham must find some fight from somewhere if they are to stay in the Premier League.
Ferdinand told TalkSPORT:
They’re in a relegation battle at the moment. Their position tells you all you need to know.
They’ve got to find some fight from somewhere. At the end of the day no-one has a divine right to be in the Premier League.
They’ve spent big money on players for West Ham’s level. At the moment it’s not bearing fruit.
They’ve got good people in the building, especially personnel like Mark Noble [the captain].
He knows his way around West Ham, knows his way around the league and knows what it means to the local people there.
David Moyes has got a huge job on his hands. He’s got to make sure he keeps West Ham in the league. He’s got to galvanise that squad now.
West Ham is the team I grew up up in, so obviously I want to see them do well.
It’s difficult as it can get toxic there [the atmosphere] very quickly. The fans want to see a certain style of football and they want to see results – just like at every other football club.
They’ve got to produce some performances, get a bit of momentum going and add some consistency in terms of their results now.

Ferdinand has a point, bringing up that West Ham have the players in the building to get them out of this mess, and pointing out that Moyes does have a huge task ahead of him.
Quite simply, results simply aren’t there for the Hammers at the minute, and it is hard to see where they will come from.
Key signings simply aren’t performing, and decisions such as Pablo Fornals being left out of the side despite some good performances really do not help Moyes in our eyes.
Can the Hammers stay up? We certainly think so, but things have got to change at the club fast if it that to happen.
Players simply have to start performing to the levels that Hammers fans know they can, else the club could be in huge danger of going down.
