West Ham set to sell Obiang to Sassuolo after China trip

West Ham are set to confirm the sale of Pedro Obiang to Serie A side Sassuolo upon their return from China this week.

According to Gazzetto Dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, West Ham and Sassuolo have agreed a fee in the region of €9m for Obiang.

Sassuolo will pay an initial €9m, with West Ham potentially earning a further €2m from the deal if he fulfils certain criteria during his time in Italy with the Serie A club.

West Ham have been competing in the Asia Trophy, but were knocked out by Manchester City on Wednesday after losing 4-1 to the Premier League champions in China.

The Hammers are now set to return to England, with Obiang then due to finalise his transfer away from the club.
