West Ham player ratings: Man City (Asia Trophy)

West Ham fell to a 4-1 defeat in China against Manchester City in the Premier League Asia Trophy.

The Hammers kicked off preparations for the new season with a defeat, with Manchester City’s quality being too much for the Hammers in Nanjing.

Mark Noble would put West Ham in front early on from the penalty spot, giving the Hammers a surprise lead.

However, City would quickly turn it around, with goals from David Silva and Lukas Nmecha giving Pep Guardiola’s side a half time advantage.

The second half would see City continue to dominate, with Raheem Sterling grabbing a third and fourth for the reigning Premier League champions in China.

West Ham will now face Newcastle on Saturday in the third placed play-off in the competition, with Man City going on to play Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final in Shanghai.

Here is how we rated the Hammers performances in the early pre-season fixture.
