West Ham offered Marseille’s Thauvin in eye-catching deal

West Ham have reportedly been offered the chance to sign France international Florian Thauvin.

Accoridng to Sky Sports, Marseille have offered the World Cup winner to the Hammers in a player-plus-cash deal.

The Ligue 1 side would look to receive a fee in the region of £36 million for the 26-year-old and the permanent services of current West Ham forward Javier Hernandez.

Thauvin has previous Premier League experience with Newcastle United but has made his name mainly with Marseille during his two permanent stints with the club.

The wide man isn’t the centre-forward Manuel Pellegrini desperately needs, however, the versatile winger could be an excellent addition at the London Stadium after his prolific form in front of goal.

The Frenchman has scored 53 times for Marseille in the past three Ligue 1 campaigns and would certainly provide a natural goal threat out wide for Pellegrini, similar to current wode man Felipe Anderson.

A move could well be one that the club feel they can’t pass by, so Hammers fans may well be welcoming a World Cup winner to their ranks before the current window closes.
