Javier Hernandez tells West Ham he wants summer exit
Javier Hernandez has reportedly told West Ham he is happy to leave the London Stadium this summer if he is not in Manuel Pellegrini’s first team plans, according to Football Insider.
The forward only started 14 times last season for the Hammers as he has was preferred to Austrian Marko Arnautovic for the majority of the campaign.
Pellegrini reportedly sees the Mexcian as a backup forward to Arnautovic for the upcoming season, which could mean the dynamic forward departs the club this summer, with sides in Spain and America keen on the 31-year-old.
Hernandez is one of the big earners at the London Stadium, reportedly taking home £140,000-a-week, so the Hammers could meet Hernandez’s wishes and allow him to leave if the offer is right.
The forward had previous spells at Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen before making the move to the London Stadium, and despite a strong start to life in London, Hernandez hasn’t met the expectations set by Hammers fans since.
