Hammers target Claude-Maurice wants Monchengladbach move
West Ham target Alexis Claude-Maurice has revealed he wants to move to Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.
The Hammers reportedly made an offer for the highly-rated striker two weeks ago, with fellow Premier League side Arsenal also extremely keen on the 21-year-old.
Newly-promoted Norwich City are the final English side thought to be tracking the forward, who scored 14 goals and assisted a further four in 35 league games for French side Lorient last season.
However, talking to the media, cited by the Metro, Claude-Maurice handed Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini a blow after admitting he wants to make the move to the Bundesliga.
I want to join Gladbach.
They are a club that focus on young players, there is a good structure, they are playing in the Europa League. I like their project & it suits me.
Pellegrini is keen on bolstering his options at the top end of the pitch ahead of the new season following Lucas Perez’s departure, with Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic’s respective futures also up in the air.
However, a proposed move for French forward Claude-Maurice now appears to be extremely unlikely.
