West Ham could make a fresh swoop to sign William Carvalho from Real Betis, according to claims from Spanish news outlet Estadio Deportivo.
The Hammers had identified the Portugal international as a top transfer target two years ago, with reports stating that they had, in fact, had an offer to sign the player accepted by Sporting CP.
However, following the saga that ensued, resulting in West Ham’s failure to recruit Carvalho, he would proceed to end up at Betis, where he has caught the eye with some dominant displays in midfield.

Last Sunday, he helped Portugal secure the inaugural UEFA Nations League trophy with an impressive performance, once again showcasing his ability.
Carvalho appears to still be a target for West Ham as they continue to prepare for next season, with Estadio Deportivo indicating that he is on Manuel Pellegrini’s radar.
The report does, though, claim that he would be a possible replacement for Declan Rice, who the Hammers remain intent on keeping hold of this summer.
