West Ham United and Leicester City are both thought to be tracking Motherwell midfielder Reece McAlear, according to The Scotsman.
They claim that both the Hammers and the Foxes are keeping tabs on the teenager ahead of a possible summer swoop.
McAlear is yet to make a first-team appearance for Motherwell but is highly thought of in the club’s academy and is regarded as a future star.
The 17-year-old plies his trade in the middle of midfield and has already represented Scotland on the international stage up to Under-17 level.
McAlear has a deal with the Scottish Premiership outfit until 2020, however, Motherwell are hoping to extend his deal, but with West Ham and Leicester interested, the teenager may well have his head turned this summer.
Despite having no first-team experience, a move for McAlear could prove to be a smart piece of business by the Hammers, with West Ham successfully bringing fellow midfielder Declan Rice through the academy in recent years.
