West Ham ‘very interested’ in Stuttgart’s Ozan Kabak

West Ham want to sign VfB Stuttgart’s Ozan Kabak this summer, but face plenty of competition from teams in England and Germany.

The 19-year-old centre back has only been at Stuttgart since January after joining from Galatasaray for €11 million, however, the teenager could be on the move again following their relegation from the Bundesliga.

According to Ed Aarons of The Guardian, West Ham are one of the teams who would like to sign the Turkish defender, who has a release clause in his contract of just £13.2 million.

Manuel Pellegrini is looking for a new central defender to provide competition to Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena, with Winston Reid and Angelo Ogbonna unfancied by the Chilean manager.

It seems that Kabak, the Bundesliga’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ for 2018/19, has been identified as a player who would be able to do just that.

However, the Hammers will have a fight on their hands if they are to sign Kabak, with Aarons claiming ‘several’ German clubs are interested, while Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham are also rumoured to be weighing up offers.
