Tottenham Hotspur have rejected the chance to sign Roma striker and West Ham target Eden Dzeko, according to Football Insider.
According to the report, Spurs feel that the striker doesn’t represent a good-value signing, this may partly be due to the forward being 33.
The report claims that the Hammers will now face a battle with Inter Milan for the player, with Inter thought to be discussing a deal with Roma worth £18 million.
The frontman would be an ideal signing for the Hammers, his prolific nature comes with Premier League experience where he featured 189 times for Manchester City, scoring on 72 occasions.
Despite being 33, Dzeko had a productive season at Roma, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists in Serie A as Roma finished in sixth-place.
He would provide a lot of experience for the Hammers and having also played under Pellegrini before, it may give West Ham an advantage.
Four more strikers West Ham could target
Balotelli has very much often received the headlines off the pitch instead of on the field.
The forward featured 15 times last season, scoring eight goals. Another forward with Premier League experience at his time at Manchester City and another who has worked under Pellegrini.
The speedy striker has enjoyed his time in the Premier League, and despite some serious injuries in previous seasons, the Cherries striker has come back stronger.
Wilson finished last season on 14 goals from 30 Premier League appearances.
The Burnley forward had a productive season scoring 12 league goals for Sean Dyche’s side.
Barnes always proves a handful for defences and is a consistent performer in a solid Burnley side.
Very much out of favour at the Emirates, Welbeck could be a smart signing by the Hammers.
Injuries have been a problem for the forward, but perhaps a move away could be the chance for Welbeck to reignite his career.
