West Ham are “in talks” with Marseille over the signing of midfielder Morgan Sanson, according to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol on Twitter.
The 24-year-old impressed for the Ligue 1 club in 2018/19, scoring 12 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions.
Marseille’s failure to reach either the Champions League or the Europa League has left Sanson looking for a fresh challenge, however.
The Hammers are on the lookout for midfield additions this summer, with Roma star Maxime Gonalons another who has been linked with a move to east London.
Marseille are thought to be “willing to listen to offers” for Sanson, who is valued at €35million.
West Ham are not alone in expressing an interest, with Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Wolves although believed to be in the mix.
The decision looks set to be up to the player himself, with various offers on the table.
Sanson is yet to be capped by France at senior level, but won 11 caps for the U21s between 2013 and 2016.
