West Ham United are reportedly in the race to sign Baptiste Santamaria from Angers.
According to clams from French news outlet L’Equipe, as translated in a report from Sport Witness, the Hammers are among the clubs who are vying for the midfielder’s signature.
Santamaria was a key player for Angers last season and proved instrumental for his side in the heart of the midfield.

His impressive displays have not gone unnoticed, though, and it appears that the Ligue 1 outfit will face an uphill battle if they are to keep hold of him this summer.
L’Equipe reports that despite Santamaria having three years left on his current contract at Angers, they would be willing to let him go if they receive a bid worth between €6 million and €8 million.
This asking price may tempt West Ham, but they will face competition from elsewhere. Newly-promoted Aston Villa are said to have expressed an interest, while Serie A giants Fiorentina are also in the hunt for his signature.
