Everton have opened talks with Barcelona over a deal to sign West Ham transfer target Andre Gomes.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been heavily linked with a move for Gomes and recently had an £18m bid rejected by Barcelona.

The report claims that Barcelona are looking for a fee in the region of £25m to allow him to leave the Nou Camp this summer.

Gomes spent the season on loan to Everton from Barcelona. He played 27 Premier League games for Marco Silva’s side, finding the back of the net once.

He joined Barcelona from Valencia in 2016 for a fee in the region of €55m, making 78 appearances for the Spanish giants to date.
