West Ham target Willy Caballero has signed a one-year contract extension with London rivals Chelsea.
The Hammers were keen on making a move for the current Chelsea number two as they looked at bringing him in as a back-up for Polish shot-stopper Lukasz Fabianski.
The Argentine goalkeeper has played in the majority of the cup games for Maurizio Sarri’s side and has impressed in each of them.
The former Manchester City player will go down in history at the Etihad after his heroics in their Capital One Cup final in 2016. Caballero saved three successive penalties to guide his side to victory against Liverpool.
Chelsea confirmed the news about Caballero’s contract extension on social media as they look to keep hold of many of their players following the club’s transfer ban.
