West Ham youngster Reece Oxford is edging closer to a move to Bundesliga side Augsburg after the two clubs agreed a £3m deal, Sky Sports report.
The report suggests that Augsburg are attempting to agree personal terms with the defender before their final Bundesliga game against Wolfsburg.
The 20-year old, who has spent previous seasons with fellow Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach, joined Augsburg on loan back in January and has impressed boss Martin Schmidt.
Oxford was tipped to become a future Hammers captain after breaking through the academy in 2014, however, the defender has made just eight Premier League appearances since.
The youngster produced a fine individual display in a 2-0 win over Arsenal back in 2015, aged just 16, but it appears as if his days left contracted to the club are numbered.
Fellow English youngsters have excelled in Germany’s top division, including Borussia Dortmund teenager Jadon Sancho and Arsenal playmaker Reiss Nelson, and Oxford will be looking to continue his good form in Germany on a permanent basis.
