West Ham amongst Premier League trio ready to meet Maxi Gomez’s release clause

West Ham face competition from both Tottenham and Liverpool in the pursuit of Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez, as the trio are all reportedly willing to meet the striker’s release clause. 

According to The Guardian, the Hammers are keen on a move for the Uruguayan and are prepared to pay the £43million release clause in Gomez’s current contract. 

Liverpool and Tottenham look set to rival Manuel Pellegrini’s side, however, as all three look to strengthen their options in from of goal this summer.

Gomez has been in impressive form for relegation threatened Celta this season, scoring 13 goals in La Liga despite his side languishing dangerously close to the bottom three.

The Hammers were reportedly eyeing a move for Gomez in the January transfer window amidst reports that Marko Arnautovic was set to leave the club to move to China.

However, Celta were keen to keep hold of the 22-year-old as they continued their battle to avoid relegation.
